Arbeost is a small mountain village at 769 m altitude, located in the heart of the High Ouzoum Valley, High Pyrenees, at the foot of the passes Soulor and Aubisque well-known by the "Tour de France". Arbeost is one of the halting-places of the Val d'Azun walking tour. Throughout the paths, the hiker discovers the small river Ouzoum and its grandiose and changing landscape. Many walks possible from Arbeost that make you discover different landscapes, with here and there farms where the delicious and famous Pyrenees cheeses are still made in a traditional way. All this in a quiet and preserved environment.

The GR10 and the "Route de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle" are near Arbeost.

Arbeost is an ideal starting point for recognizing "The Gaves Valley". In a radius of 50 km remarkable sites are to discover, like Cauterets and its "Pont d'Espagne", the Gavarnie Cirque, the Troumousse Cirque, the "Pic du Midi of Bigorre" with his observatory, Lourdes .....

The cyclist can follow the road passes of the Soulor, Aubisque, Tourmalet.........

As there is no light pollution around Arbeost, the place is splendid for astronomers.

In every season Arbeost has its particularities. A multitude of flowers in spring, Mid-June the herds of sheeps and cows are passing through the village on the way to the mountain pastures.

Freshness in altitude, bilberries and moorlands in summer. In autumn the multicoloured mountains and mushrooms. In winter the possibility of ski skating and snowshoe walking in the "Espace Nordique" (Soulour and Couraduque area).
